Golden Eagle release in Moab, Utah

Dr. Nicole MacLaren, DACVO from Eye Care for Animals in Salt Lake City, Utah volunteers for the Raptor Rehabilitation Organization and was asked to participate in the release of a huge Golden Eagle who had recovered from West Nile Virus chorioretinitis retinal detachments and then hitting the windshield of a truck. After three months of recovery and care, they released her at stunning Dead Horse Point north of Moab, Utah.  She caught an updraft and after 2 beats of her enormous wings, she lifted directly above their heads until she could no longer be seen. After the Golden Eagle’s release Dr. MacLaren stated, “This was truly one of the most rewarding moments of my career.”
