New 2016 Resident Doctors Arrive for Orientation

Eye Care for Animals is pleased to introduce our newest veterinary ophthalmology residents. Starting July 18, Dr. Tara Czepiel will be joining our team in Wheeling, Illinois. Dr. Hannah Visser will be joining our team in Houston, Texas.


Tara Czepiel, DVM, Ophthalmology Resident

Dr. Czepiel graduated from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) with a Bachelor of Arts in both Biology and Spanish as well as a minor in Biochemistry. She discovered her interest in comparative ophthalmology while pursuing her veterinary degree at the University of Illinois. After receiving a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with Honors, Dr. Czepiel completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital followed by an ophthalmology specialty internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Czepiel then joined the Eye Care for Animals residency program in 2016.

Hannah Visser, DVM, Ophthalmology Resident

Dr. Visser received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of Charleston. During her time in Charleston she spent time with veterinary specialists and developed a passion for comparative ophthalmology. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia where she completed several ophthalmic research projects. After graduating, Dr. Visser completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fishers, Indiana. Afterward, she stayed in Fishers to complete a small animal ophthalmic internship. Dr. Visser joined the Eye Care for Animals Residency program in 2016. She enjoys spending her free time with her English Setter Banks and two cats Bowen and Poe.
