Dr. Lavach obtained his veterinary degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. After several years in general veterinary practice he returned to CSU to complete a Masters of Science degree and a comparative ophthalmology residency. Dr. Lavach has a broad background in veterinary medicine and comparative ophthalmology. His experiences include private practice, academic position appointments, and consulting for ophthalmic instrument manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. He was a member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists for several years and served as its President. Dr. Lavach has written ophthalmology textbooks, numerous book chapters and scientific papers, and he presents continuing education seminars for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and pet clubs.
