
Dr. Ken Abrams is a Rhode Island native who received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Rhode Island before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University, in 1985. After completing a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the prestigious Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, he completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Abrams joined Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine and Angell Memorial Hospital as a staff ophthalmologist, during which time he achieved Diplomate status as a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. In 1992 he began his own referral veterinary ophthalmology practice, Veterinary Ophthalmology Services, in Warwick, Rhode Island where he has practiced for 20 years. In October 2012, Dr. Abrams joined Eye Care for Animals.
Dr. Abrams is the author of several scientific articles and textbook chapters. He has a strong interest in retinal disease, intraocular surgery, laser surgery and glaucoma. He has published a number of review articles on various diseases, including research into the mysterious blinding retinal disease called Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome (SARDS). He is a past president of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO), the national veterinary ophthalmology certifying organization.

Dr. Armour attended Colby College where she received her bachelor degree in Biology and Performing Arts. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Armour then completed a three-year residency program with Eye Care for Animals, after which she became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Dr. Collins received his veterinary degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. He then pursued an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. Dr. Cutter completed her BS in Animal Science and DVM at North Carolina State University in 1996 and 2000, respectively. In 2000, Dr. Cutter moved on to Cornell University where she completed her rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. She remained at Cornell to complete her ophthalmology residency (2001-2004). Dr. Cutter became board-certified in 2004 and, following her residency training, Dr. Cutter accepted an adjunct teaching appointment at Massey University in NZ, where she continues to lecture. From 2004-2006, Dr. Cutter worked as a staff ophthalmologist at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver, BC. In 2007, Dr. Cutter accepted a position at Animal Eye Care in Athens, GA. In 2011, Dr. Cutter relocated to Santa Fe, NM with her husband and two children. She has joined ECFA and will be seeing appointments in our Santa Fe, NM location. Her ophthalmic interests include tear film deficiencies, corneal repair, glaucoma, and neuro-ophthalmology. He completed residency training in comparative ophthalmology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1985. He was awarded a Diploma of Veterinary Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1986. Dr. Millichamp became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2004 and was elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2008.
Dr. Millichamp was a staff ophthalmologist at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and faculty member in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Studies at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University from 1986 until 2009. His clinical and research interests have focused on the pharmacology of ocular inflammation, ocular surgery (particularly cataract surgery in horses), and ocular disease in exotic species and, more recently, ophthalmic telemedicine and imaging. Dr. Marjorie Neaderland is a Norwalk, CT native. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Associates of Science from the University of Maine at Orono. After graduating, Dr. Neaderland worked as a research assistant at the Yale University School of Medicine in the Departments of Comparative Medicine and later, Therapeutic Radiology. She is the coauthor of several published papers involving hypoxic cell sensitization from that research project. Dr. Neaderland received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of California, Davis, in 1984. Following graduation from UC Davis, Dr. Neaderland completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship, and a three-year residency in comparative ophthalmology at Cornell University in New York. Her residency research project and publication involved equine corneal healing. She became a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist in 1990 and opened the Animal Eye Clinic in Norwalk. In June 2013, Dr. Neaderland joined Eye Care for Animals.
Dr. Neaderland is an avid equestrian and enjoys her equine patients. The Retinographics ERG was developed with Bill Eppler at her practice, bringing electroretinography into private ophthalmology practice. She is a supporter of the Pegasus Therapeutic Riding program, which provides handicapped children with physical therapy, companionship and confidence through horseback riding. She has been the veterinary ophthalmologist for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Patterson, NY since 1993, examining all dogs in their breeding program annually.

Dr. Norman graduated from St. Andrew's Presbyterian College majoring in both Biology and Chemistry. Prior to veterinary school, she worked in a large equine clinical and research facility in Southern Pines, North Carolina, where she gained valuable experience in clinical research. Dr. Scagliotti is a 1973 University California-Davis graduate who interned at the Boston's Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. He received his masters degree in Comparative Pathology from the University of California-Davis, and remained on the clinical faculty until he became board certified in veterinary ophthalmology in 1977. Dr. Scagliotti served as president of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists from 1992-93 and was editor of the first edition of the ACVO's, Ocular Disorders Proven or Suspected to be Hereditary in Dogs. He has authored eight ophthalmology chapters as well as numerous papers and lectures internationally. For 31 years, Dr. Scagliotti served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of California-Davis College of Veterinary Medicine where he held the title of Associate Clinical Professor. In 2008, he was awarded the University of California-Davis Veterinary Medical School's Highest Honor, The Alumni Achievement Award. Dr. Sigler started the first veterinary eye clinic in the state of Arizona in 1980. He was educated at Purdue University, Colorado State University, University of Minnesota, and Stanford University. He has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists since 1977. Dr. Sigler has given many educational lectures to national and local doctors on veterinary ophthalmology and he has also served as past president of the Central Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. His clinical interest include intraocular surgery and corneal disease.

Dr. Sisler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Veterinary School. He spent five years as an emergency veterinarian in Fort Wayne, Indiana at a multi-referral hospital. Dr. Sisler joined the residency program at Eye Care for Animals in 2002 and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2004.

Dr. Smith Wagner attended Texas A&M University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in Biomedical Science as well as her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Dr. Smith-Wagner joined Eye Care for Animals in 2007 and completed her three year residency in veterinary and comparative ophthalmology. In 2010, she was named Eye Care for Animals’ Resident of the Year. Dr. Smith-Wagner became board certified and achieved Diplomate status in 2010.

Dr. Steele received a double bachelor of science degree in neuroscience-behavioral Biology and in general Biology from Emory University. Dr. Steele attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with honors. Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Rustin Sturgeon earned his bachelor of science degree in Animal Science and Industry and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. After graduation, Dr. Sturgeon was in private companion animal practice for two years, and spent four years in the emergency and critical care department of a multi-specialty referral hospital in Overland Park, Kansas.
